Daddy Showkey Rubbed

Six armed robbers yesterday, Wednesday, July 27, 2011 invaded the Ojodu home of popular Galala/pop singer, John Asiemo best known as Daddy Showkey situated on Bola Akintunde Alabi Street in Victory Estate in broad day light around 1:41PM and killed one of his aides, Wale Suraj.
When Nigerian Entertainment Today (NET) paid Showkey a visit, the security man, Kunle who allegedly jumped over the fence to the next building when he saw Wale being shot in the right arm, told us his boss (Showkey) was not around and informed us that, ‘I believe there were six of them. One was standing at the gate into the street, one was on the street. One was also standing at the entrance into the house while two of them came in with Raymond, my oga’s son. I was standing up here (a corridor, high above the fence and built by the gate). But when I saw them shoot Wale, I had to jump over the fence,’ and when asked if he the gunmen took anything or left in a hurry because they saw people coming, he added, ‘No, I didn’t raise any alarm and no-one was coming when they fled. I think they did, when they realized I jumped over the fence and didn’t know what to expect if they stayed to rob the house’. However, Kunle who seemed to be security conscious didn’t allow our reporter in, but narrated his side of the story standing on the corridor up beside the gate.
Though Daddy Showkey’s wife refused to comment on the matter or her husband’s whereabouts, she asked us to speak with his personal assistant, Mr. Bola for whatever her husband has to say. Mr. Bola later told our reporter via SMS at exactly 1:54PM on Thursday, July 28, 2011 that, ‘we are on our way to bury the person (Wale Suraj) they killed. I will call you when I’m done’.
And when our reporter also visited the Ojodu Police Divisional Headquarters by Grammar School Bus/Stop in Ojodu, Lagos State to speak with Officer Roland, the policeman in-charge of the case, we learnt that Wale Suraji was at the morgue of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). Officer Roland in a telephone conversation told NET ‘Please go to the Police Public Relations Officer (P.P.R.O) office on Oduduwa Crescent (Ikeja GRA), sir. I have no right to speak on the matter to the press. Please. Thank you’.
Built on two plots of land, Showkey completed the construction of his house in April 2010. The property was said to have cost about N86 million naira.
