ADELE’S 21 PASSES THE NINE MILLION MARK!

Adele's 21 is at number two on this week's Billboard album chart, selling over 101-thousand copies. The record has been on the charts for 64 straight weeks and has now sold over nine-million copies. Meanwhile, her debut album, 19, is at number 20 and has sold over 2.2-million copies since it arrived back in 2008. Adele's current single, "Rumour Has It," has sold over 1.5-million copies, "Set Fire to the Rain" has sold over 3.7-million, "Someone Like You" has shifted just under five-million and her breakthrough hit, "Rolling in the Deep," has moved a whopping 7.1-million copies.
In related news, NME reports that Adele turned down the chance to headline Glastonbury next year. Organizer Michael Eavis says he asked the British singer to play the event, but she "doesn't want to do a thing our size." The event would see Adele performing to over 80-thousand fans. That said, Eavis says Adele attends the festival each year as a fan and even "has her own little party."
And it seems Adele is no stranger to receiving awards, Billboard reports that Adele took home two awards at the Ivor Novello Awards in London last week. The singer won the coveted Songwriter of the Year trophy and said that tough reviews of her debut album led to the success of her second record, 21. Adele said, "The main thing was the songs weren't as good as my voice. And I took that on board and now I'm winning songwriter of the year."
Adele posted a picture of herself hugging one of her awards later that evening. CLICK HERE to see the pic.
